Virtual Reality #VR techniques are being used to develop educational didactic models in the field of Civil Engineering One of the labs is the Marshall test method, which shows how the user can go through the test for training, educational, or presentation purposes while also saving money because all devices and consumed material are virtual.
Here is a proof of concept application presenting the ability of using VR technologies in the Asphalt testing by mix design using Marshall test method. The use of the Virtual Reality -VR- system gives the user the ability to go through the test in training, educational or presentation purposes and that will also cut the cost as all devices and consumed material are in the virtual word. The system is easy to use, upgradeable, and can be changed to other tests and environments .
The experience in the virtual word can be custom tailed to the specification of the test and the environment needed, and any number of devices types can be added with full functionality and accurate real word representation. The system can be modified to be used for training purposes as an interactive guide, or can be changed to be an advance interactive presentation of a specific device or a lab design for a potential client, and many other material and uses .
