Cam & Tappet with Cam Set Machine
Engineering Equipments / Mechanics / Theory of Machine Laboratory
Cam Tappet Apparatus
The Cam & Tappet Apparatus is used to investigate the displacement of an edge profile
cam. The data is then used to draw displacement, velocity & acceleration diagrams. The apparatus is
equally suitable for student experiments or demonstrations.
The bench mounted apparatus consists of a rotating arm to which the test cam is attached. The arm may be
locked in any position to facilitate readings.
The degree division scale is used to indicate the arm and thus cam, position.
A dial gauge reading to 0,01mm measures displacement. The dial gauge can be fitted with a range of
followers. The follower set comprises roller, domed and flat followers.
