Overview

This VR experience allows learners to explore and perform the respirometer experiment used in plant biology to measure the rate of aerobic respiration in germinating seeds. What the VR Experience Includes

Virtual Lab Setup

Access all required materials: germinating and boiled seeds, test tubes, manometer, KOH/soda lime, stoppers, cotton, clamps, and more.

Preparing the Seeds

Inspect germinating seeds and prepare boiled/dead seeds as controls to compare respiration.

Assembling the Respirometer

Add CO2 absorber, position cotton, place seeds, seal stoppers, and connect to the manometer.

Observing Respiration

Insert manometer fluid, watch shifts as oxygen is consumed, and compare experimental vs. control tubes.

Data Recording & Analysis

Track fluid displacement, time, and temperature; calculate respiration rates with visual outputs.
