Man in a Swimming Pool VR Nursing Simulation
An adult male collapses beside a swimming pool. The learner must move him to a safe, dry surface, dry the chest before applying AED pads, and manage compressions and shocks in a wet environment where electrical safety matters.
Learning objectives
By the end of this experience the learner can:
- Ensure scene safety and move the casualty away from water.
- Dry the chest before pad placement.
- Deliver compressions and follow AED prompts correctly.
- Manage a possible drowning-related arrest with early rescue breaths.

Procedure steps
- Check for danger and pull the casualty clear of the water.
- Check response and breathing and call for help and the AED.
- Start CPR with rescue breaths for a drowning victim.
- Dry the chest, attach pads and follow the AED voice prompts.
- Continue cycles until the casualty responds or professional help takes over.
Assessment
Scene safety, chest drying and CPR quality are scored, with feedback on shock delivery in a wet environment.
Equipment and setting
Standalone VR headset with hand controllers, full-scale virtual patient and equipment, instructor screen mirroring, Arabic and English interface, offline operation on the campus network.
