Water Quality Testing Equipment

Benchtop and portable instruments for drinking water, groundwater, irrigation water, wastewater and aquaculture, from routine pH checks to nutrient and metal analysis.

Water Quality Testing Equipment

Knowing what is in the water

Water quality testing equipment measures the chemical, physical and microbiological condition of water. Photometric analysers cover nearly a hundred parameters, including COD, ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus and total nitrogen, dedicated testers target individual heavy metals and compounds, turbidity meters assess clarity and suspended solids, and field kits culture coliform and other bacteria on site. Electrochemical meters measure pH, conductivity, TDS, ions and dissolved oxygen. Water utilities, environment ministries, wastewater plants, irrigation authorities, aquaculture farms, universities and food plants use them daily. ASFAN supplies, installs and supports water testing equipment and helps specify complete water laboratories.

Drinking water safety

Routine checks of turbidity, pH, bacteria and key contaminants confirm that treated and distributed water stays safe from the treatment plant to the consumer tap.

Wastewater and reuse compliance

COD, nitrogen and phosphorus measurements show whether treated effluent meets discharge or reuse limits, an important step before using it for irrigation or landscaping.

Irrigation water suitability

Conductivity, pH and specific ions reveal salinity and toxicity risks in well and reclaimed water, helping farms protect soil structure and crop yields.

Aquaculture management

Dedicated aquaculture testing of dissolved oxygen, ammonia, nitrite, sulfide and salinity helps farms keep stock healthy and respond quickly when water conditions change.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the benchtop and portable COD analysers?

Both digest and measure COD, ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus and total nitrogen. The benchtop version stores more curves and records for busy laboratories, while the portable version runs on battery or vehicle power for testing at the sampling site.

Can bacteria be tested outside the laboratory?

Yes. The portable bacteria kit includes a vacuum filtration set and culture holder, so samples can be filtered and incubated in the field for total bacteria, E. coli and other indicator organisms.

How often should pH and conductivity meters be calibrated?

Calibrate with fresh standard buffers or solutions at the start of each working day, or more often when accuracy is critical, and record each calibration as part of the laboratory quality system.
