Temperature Measurement VR Nursing Simulation
The learner measures body temperature on the virtual patient using the appropriate thermometer and route, applies a probe cover, waits for the reading, interprets it against the normal range and documents the result with the route used.
Learning objectives
By the end of this experience the learner can:
- Select the correct thermometer and route for the patient.
- Apply infection-control measures before and after measurement.
- Interpret the reading and recognise fever and hypothermia.
- Document the value, route and time.

Procedure steps
- Explain the procedure and apply a probe cover.
- Position the thermometer correctly for the chosen route.
- Wait for the signal and read the display.
- Compare with the normal range and the patient's baseline.
- Dispose of the cover and record the reading.

Route choice, probe placement and interpretation are scored automatically.
Equipment and setting
Standalone VR headset with hand controllers, full-scale virtual patient and equipment, instructor screen mirroring, Arabic and English interface, offline operation on the campus network.
