Virtual Reality / Safety Training
Communication Towers Safety VR Simulation Training
Communication Towers Safety VR Simulation Training by ASFAN places tower technicians inside a realistic climbing environment to rehearse fall protection, RF/EMF exposure awareness, and emergency response before ever leaving the ground.
Experience Highlights
100% Tie-Off Climbing Practice
Learners rehearse continuous fall-protection technique, connecting a second lanyard before releasing the first at every transition point on a virtual lattice or monopole tower.
RF & EMF Exposure Awareness
The simulation flags active antenna sectors and unsafe proximity zones, reinforcing power-down and lockout confirmation before any work begins near live transmitters.
Emergency Descent & Rescue Readiness
Trainees practice controlled descent, self-rescue, and ground-crew communication so a real incident at height is met with a rehearsed, confident response.
Training scenario
How the Simulation Runs
1. Pre-Climb Inspection
Harness, lanyards, carabiners, and the rescue kit are checked against a structured checklist before the climb begins, matching real pre-work verification steps.
2. Structured Ascent
Learners climb the lattice or monopole structure using continuous 100% tie-off, pausing at marked platforms to reassess anchor points and surroundings.
3. Task Execution at Height
Antenna, feeder line, and dish inspection or replacement tasks are carried out while following lockout confirmation and RF-safety zoning rules.
4. Controlled Descent & Debrief
A safe, monitored descent is followed by an instructor debrief comparing timing, decisions, and checklist compliance against the expected procedure.
Risk coverage
Key Hazards Addressed
Falls from Height
Recognizing unsafe positioning, anchor gaps, and transition points where a fall is most likely to occur.
RF / EMF Radiation Exposure
Identifying active sectors, exclusion zones, and the confirmation steps required before approaching energized antennas.
Live Electrical & Feeder Lines
Practicing lockout confirmation and safe clearance around power and feeder cabling routed along the structure.
Severe Weather & Lightning
Reinforcing go/no-go decisions and early descent triggers when wind, ice, or lightning risk increases.
Structural & Rigging Failure
Checking rigging, hoist lines, and load paths before moving tools or components up the tower.
Rescue & Self-Rescue
Building the muscle memory to self-rescue or assist a colleague safely if a suspension incident occurs.
Project details
Platform
