Peripheral IV Test VR Nursing Simulation
The test experience combines the injection and drip skills into a timed, unguided assessment. Prompts are removed, the virtual patient presents with a fresh case, and the learner has to complete the full peripheral IV workflow while the system silently records every action.
Learning objectives
By the end of this experience the learner can:
- Complete the peripheral IV workflow without on-screen guidance.
- Maintain asepsis and sharps safety under time pressure.
- Demonstrate correct decision-making when the first attempt fails.
- Produce a complete, accurate record of the procedure.

Procedure steps
- Read the case brief and prescription.
- Perform the insertion and start the infusion without prompts.
- Respond to the patient's questions and any complication that appears.
- Submit the procedure for automatic scoring and instructor review.
Assessment
The test produces a pass/fail result against the institution's checklist together with an itemised error report that can be exported to the LMS.
Equipment and setting
Standalone VR headset with hand controllers, full-scale virtual patient and equipment, instructor screen mirroring, Arabic and English interface, offline operation on the campus network.
