Blood Transfusion VR Nursing Simulation

The learner receives a unit of packed red cells for the virtual patient and must complete every safety check before and during administration. The scenario includes a mismatched-unit variant and an acute reaction that has to be recognised from the vital signs and the patient's symptoms. Available for nursing schools, simulation centres and hospitals in the UAE.

Transfusion errors are rare but catastrophic, and most of them are identification errors at the bedside. This experience walks the learner through the full pathway: checking the prescription and consent, two-person verification of the unit against the patient, preparing the blood administration set, starting the transfusion slowly, monitoring vital signs at the required intervals and recognising and managing a transfusion reaction.
