Child at School VR Nursing Simulation
A child collapses in a school. The learner applies paediatric CPR: five initial rescue breaths, compressions to one-third chest depth with one or two hands, and an AED with paediatric pads or attenuator if available, while keeping other children safe.
Learning objectives
By the end of this experience the learner can:
- Apply the paediatric modifications of the CPR algorithm.
- Use paediatric AED pads correctly and place them front-and-back if needed.
- Manage bystanders and delegate the emergency call.
- Continue CPR effectively for a child.

Procedure steps
- Confirm unresponsiveness and shout for help.
- Give five rescue breaths, then start compressions at 15:2.
- Send someone for the AED and to call emergency services.
- Attach paediatric pads and follow the prompts.
- Continue until the child shows signs of life or help arrives.

Compression depth for a child, the initial rescue breaths and correct pad choice are scored.
Equipment and setting
Standalone VR headset with hand controllers, full-scale virtual patient and equipment, instructor screen mirroring, Arabic and English interface, offline operation on the campus network.
