Laboratory & Life Science Equipment

Evaporation & Vacuum Equipment

Equipment for removing solvents and concentrating extracts gently under reduced pressure, from single flasks to pilot-scale volumes.

Evaporation & Vacuum Equipment

Concentrating extracts without damaging them

Evaporation and vacuum equipment removes solvents from extracts at low temperature so that heat-sensitive compounds are preserved. Rotary evaporators spin a flask in a heated bath under vacuum, with models from compact 2 L units to floor-standing 10–50 L systems and a five-flask multi-sample version. Nitrogen evaporators dry many small samples in parallel before chromatography. Cooling circulators supply chilled liquid to condensers, and water circulation, PTFE diaphragm pumps and vacuum controllers provide stable, adjustable vacuum. Residue, natural products, essential oil, pharmaceutical and university laboratories use this equipment. ASFAN supplies, installs and supports it and helps specify complete extraction laboratories.

ASFAN supplies and supports rotary evaporators and vacuum equipment for research and testing laboratories across the UAE.

Residue analysis preparation

Concentrating solvent extracts of food, soil and water samples brings pesticide residues and contaminants into the detection range of chromatographs and spectrometers.

Plant extracts and essential oils

Gentle evaporation under vacuum recovers active compounds and aromatic fractions from medicinal and aromatic plants without the thermal damage caused by open heating.

Solvent recovery

Condensed solvent is collected in a receiving flask for reuse or proper disposal, lowering consumable costs and reducing emissions in the laboratory.

Higher sample throughput

Multi-sample rotary evaporators and nitrogen evaporators process several extracts at once, shortening preparation time in busy residue and quality-control laboratories.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size of rotary evaporator should we choose?

Choose by the largest volume you evaporate in one run. Compact 2 L and standard 2–5 L units suit most analytical laboratories, while 10–50 L floor-standing systems suit extraction scale-up and pilot work.

Why use a vacuum controller?

A controller holds vacuum at the boiling point of the chosen solvent, which prevents bumping and foaming, improves solvent recovery and lets the same method be repeated reliably from one run to the next.

Which vacuum pump suits corrosive solvents?

A PTFE diaphragm pump resists corrosive vapours and runs oil-free. Water circulation pumps are economical for general work, but their water should be changed regularly when used with organic solvents.
