Oxygen Saturation VR Nursing Simulation
The learner applies a pulse oximeter probe to the virtual patient's finger, checks for factors that distort the reading such as nail polish, poor perfusion and movement, waits for a stable waveform and interprets the SpO2 value.
Learning objectives
By the end of this experience the learner can:
- Apply the probe correctly and confirm a stable signal.
- Identify factors that produce false readings.
- Interpret SpO2 with the patient's condition and oxygen therapy.
- Escalate appropriately for low saturation.

Procedure steps
- Select a warm, clean finger and remove nail polish if present.
- Attach the probe and wait for the waveform to stabilise.
- Read SpO2 and pulse and compare with the patient's baseline.
- Act on readings below the target range.
- Document the value and the oxygen delivery in use.
Assessment
The scenario introduces artefacts and checks whether the learner corrects them before recording.

Standalone VR headset with hand controllers, full-scale virtual patient and equipment, instructor screen mirroring, Arabic and English interface, offline operation on the campus network.
