Frequently Asked Questions

Which balance readability do we need?

Choose 0.1 mg for analytical work such as standards and small samples, 1 mg or 0.01 g for routine laboratory weighing, and 0.1 g, bench or platform scales for larger seed, grain and feed lots.

Stereo or biological microscope?

A stereo microscope gives a three-dimensional view of whole objects such as seed, insects and leaves at lower magnification. A biological microscope examines thin samples on slides at high magnification for cells and microorganisms.

What does trinocular mean?

A trinocular microscope has a third port for a camera in addition to the two eyepieces, so observations can be photographed, recorded or displayed on a screen while the user continues viewing.
