Industrial Robotics Lab
Articulated and SCARA robot arms, grippers, conveyors, vision and PLC control for learning robot programming, work-cell integration and safe automation.

Overview
The Industrial Robotics Lab introduces learners to the robots used on modern production lines. They study robot anatomy, coordinate frames and kinematics, then program real robot arms with a teach pendant and offline software for pick-and-place, palletising and machine-tending tasks.
Conveyors, sensors, vision and a PLC turn individual robots into a small automated work cell, so students also learn integration, interlocking and the safety rules that govern collaborative and industrial robots. ASFAN designs, supplies, installs and commissions the complete Industrial Robotics Lab, with operating manuals, experiment sheets and instructor training.
Key Equipment
- Six-axis articulated robot arm – joint and Cartesian programming, payload and reach
- SCARA / desktop educational robots – fast pick-and-place and classroom practice
- Teach pendant and offline programming software – path teaching, simulation and program transfer
- End-effectors: pneumatic, vacuum and electric grippers – handling different parts
- Conveyor with sensors – part transfer and detection
- Machine-vision camera – part recognition and positioning
- PLC trainer – work-cell sequencing and interlocks
- Safety enclosure, light curtain and emergency stops – safe robot operation
Learning Objectives
By the end of the training, learners will be able to:
- Describe robot types, anatomy, coordinate frames and work envelopes.
- Program a robot for pick-and-place and path tasks using a teach pendant and offline software.
- Select and apply end-effectors and sensors for a given task.
- Integrate a robot with a conveyor, vision system and PLC into a simple work cell.
- Apply robot-safety standards and risk-reduction measures.
Career Relevance
The lab prepares learners for careers in automation engineering, robot programming, system integration and smart manufacturing.
